Things look to be considerably tough for many Northern Colorado families when the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) ceases to receive funding because of the government shutdown; Chicken Salad Chick in Northern Colorado is ready to step up and help families make sure their children get nutrition.

How Long Has Chicken Salad Chick Been in Northern Colorado?

The first Chicken Salad Chick location for Colorado opened in 2022 in Greeley; in 2024 the owners/operators of that Greeley location opened up two more spots, one in Johnstown and one in Windsor. I was at the Windsor location when it first opened; I'd never been to one. I liked the atmosphere, as well as the food. It's great to see a place like that open their arms to the community to help in a time of need.

With Chicken Salad Chick getting its start in Alabama, that southern charm can be felt at all their locations; three in Northern Colorado are taking the charm even further with free meals while SNAP benefits are cutoff. Every day, children  can get a free Little Chick meal (Sandwich/Scoop Plate, Side, Cookie, and Pickle.) The child does have to be present and it's for dine-in only. They also state that no purchase is necessary, so it's not like it's a free meal after a parent buys a meal.

From Chicken Salad Chick of Northern Colorado:

No purchase necessary, no questions asked.

We are locally owned and operated and we love supporting our community and those in need.

I'll bet that there are more Northern Colorado restaurants doing the same thing; if you hear of one, be sure to let us know.

To open a second location, from the ground up, can take a lot of courage. While their original location is legendary, their second one really stands out as a "destination" dining experience.
