CCW Fees Could Be Cheaper in Weld County Soon
An agreement between the Weld County Sheriff's Department and the Weld County Commissioners has been reached to reduce concealed carry weapons fees.
This will be the second reduction to the Weld County CCW fee since Weld County Sheriff, Steve Reams, has taken office in 2015. The first reduction took the fee from $150 to $100. The second reduction will drop the $100 CCW fee to only $52.50. Reams has decided to enact the second reduction in the wake of the recent passing of the Colorado Senate Bill 20-217. The bill focuses on the Enhance Law Enforcement Integrity Act.
The Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page shared a quote from Reams stating “I thought it was time for another fee reduction to give the citizens of Weld County the opportunity to exercise their 2nd Amendment right in the least financially-restrictive way possible.”
The board of Weld County Commissioners will be voting on the CCW fee reduction at the regularly scheduled meeting on Monday. The Weld County Sheriff's Office will be charging the new fee as soon as it is formally adopted.
