Cal-Wood Fire in Boulder County: Over 7,000 Acres, Evacuations

The latest fire in Colorado started and exploded, with strong winds and dry conditions, to quickly grow to over 7,000 acres by Saturday evening.

According to the Daily Camera, the Cal-Wood Fire, Colorado's fourth fire underway, forced the evacuation of the towns of Jamestown and Lyons, involving 900 homes.

It is named the Cal-Wood Fire because it began in the area of the Cal-Wood Environmental Education Center
