Broncos’ Von Miller Makes NFL’s 2010s ‘All-Decade’ Team
You don't get to make the roster of a 'Decade' team without having proven you've earned it. Von's stats show that he definitely deserves the nod.
The Denver Broncos have announced that the NFL and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, in a unanimous decision, have chosen Von Miller as an outside linebacker for the 2010s 'All-Decade' Team.
The 55-member team is selected by a 48-member selection panel. All 48 on that panel voted for Von Miller. Only seven other players were voted in unanimously.
Miller has had the most sacks in that ten-year period, with his grand total coming to 112. The only other player from that decade on the list who could compare to that number is well-known J.J. Watt, who still only had 102 sacks.
Here's what Miller said during a Monday conference call about the honor:
“It’s incredible. I just try to take it one day at a time, take it one game at a time. The All-Decade team is such a huge honor. I remember [former Broncos OLB] DeMarcus [Ware]. DeMarcus Ware got the All-Decade team. I remember how much it meant to him and how important it was to him. Fast forward to now a couple years later, I’m doing the same thing. It’s incredible. Everybody knows I’ve been trying to be like DeMarcus my entire career. To follow in his footsteps and get honors like this is incredible.”
Another Bronco selected for the All-Decade team is former Bronco Chris Harris Jr, who wasn't even drafted out of college, but went on to be a big part of Denver's 'No-Fly Zone' and was selected to four Pro Bowls.
