Bottomless Pit Food Review: Red Rooster
Who doesn't like a home cooked meal. As I was heading south on I-25 I drove past your typical fast food drive thru's, exit after exit. Then saw a sign for Red Rooster. I could tell by my location in Longmont and the "Home Cooked Meals" sign on the outside that this was a local eatery where residents met for a meal and truck drivers stopped while passing through.
The moment I sat down I knew I was right. I heard two of the four servers use customers first names no less than half a dozen times. The menu was fairly simple but had the "home cooked meals" typical fair. Breakfast served all day, chicken fried chicken and chicken fried chicken, and a selection of burgers. I went with the Philly Cheese Steak and was extremely impressed. It wasn't just the slow cooked beef, provolone cheese or mix of onions, mushrooms and green peppers. The star here was the hoagie roll it was served on. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, just as a roll should be.
If you're ever heading down I-25 and would like yourself a home cooked meal, I would absolutely recommend Red Rooster Cafe.
