Imagine sitting down for a round of blackjack in Las Vegas when you notice Charlie Blackmon is at the table too. Are you ready to get out of the cold and catch a game?

I would definitely call this 'two birds with one stone.' Not only would you be getting out of Colorado, where the weather has been very 'wintery' and cold, but you would be able to see a couple of fun baseball games with the Rockies.

Northwest of Las Vegas Boulevard, where all the big casinos are, is not only an In-N-Out, but also Las Vegas Ballpark. This is where the Las Vegas Aviators play, they are the Triple-A team associated with the Oakland A's. I think they have a great name, an homage to the great (though troubled) Howard Hughes.

The Colorado Rockies will be playing against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Las Vegas Ballpark for two games, Friday, March 18, 2022 at 7:05 p.m., and Saturday March 19, at 2:05 p.m.

I think this would be a blast, If wasn't already going to be in Las Vegas for Billy Joel on February 26, I would seriously consider this 'Big League Weekend.' To be in Vegas, just relaxing, doing a little gambling, then taking a couple hours to watch a baseball game? It's like splitting 10's at the Blackjack table- you do it.

The one 'catch' to the weekend, is that the entire Rockies squad will not be playing in Vegas; they have two other games that weekend (I don't get that, either) against the A's and the Mariners. So, they'll be bringing a 'split-squad' to Sin City.

It looks like tickets are only $25.  Who's in?

We Bet You Love These Rockies Players, Too

Some truly great players have worn the Rockies uniform, however, you'll find only one in the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. We could have a discussion about the greatest Colorado Rockies players ever, or we could have a more subjective talk about favorite players. While there is some crossover, there is a difference and there is a lot of room to be different.
