Bacon Reserves at a 50 Year Low
Say it ain't so! Not the bacon... Please not the bacon.
The nursery rhyme "This Little Piggy" comes to mind when hearing about the bacon reserves. This little piggy went to market... Actually, not enough of them are going to the market since pig farmers cannot keep up with the high demand for pork.
We haven't levels so low in the pork belly reserves since 1957. From 9News, there was only 17.8 million pounds in the reserve as of December 2016. Be on the lookout for higher prices on that sweet meat candy we all love so much in the stores.
Thankfully I have a few packages sitting in my freezer as I type this!
