2015 Oscars: J.K. Simmons Wins Best Supporting Actor
It seemed inevitable, and there were some other great contenders, but J.K. Simmons has been awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor at the 2015 Academy Awards. Simmons took home the statue for his fantastic, unnerving role as Fletcher, the intimidating band instructor in Whiplash.
‘Wonder Woman’ Solo Film Will Begin Shooting This Fall
Last we heard, Warner Bros. hadn’t yet officially given the Wonder Woman solo film the green light, which wasn’t entirely surprising given that a script wasn’t firmly in place. But today brings good news on the Wonder Woman front: shooting will begin this fall for the hero’s upcoming solo adventure, with — as previously confirmed — Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad vet Michelle MacLaren in the director’s chair.

We won’t know exactly how graphic ‘50 Shades of Grey’ is going to be until we see the film with our own cursed eyeballs, but we now officially know that the film has been given an R-rating by the pearl-clutching members of the MPAA. What does that R-rating stand for? Graphic nudity, “strong sexual content,” and “unusual behavior.” Wait, what the hell is unusual behavior?!

‘The Interview’: Full List of Theaters Screening the Controversial Comedy on Christmas Day
Earlier today it was announced that Sony will release ‘The Interview’ in select theaters and on VOD this Christmas Day after all. We have the full list of theaters that will screen the film this Thursday.

With Judd Apatow’s involvement and an official script locked in, Reubens revealed that production on the film is set to begin in 2015. But don’t count on seeing Pee-wee back on the big screen—he’s heading to Netflix.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘Southpaw’ Transformation Is Truly Astonishing
When actors transform for a role, we take notice (and most of the time, so does that little golden statue named Oscar). Christian Bale in ‘The Machinist,’ Matthew McConaughey in ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ Charlize Theron in ‘Monster,’ Christian Bale in the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, etc. Jake Gyllenhaal recently joined the club when he dropped 25 pounds to play the sociopathic Lou Bloom in ‘Nightcrawler,’ and now he’s at it again with his incredible transformation for his next film, Antoine Fuqua’s ‘Southpaw.’

Well, prepare for the next best thing. Melissa McCarthy is set to star in a live-action Tinker Bell film from 'Night at the Museum' director Shawn Levy and 'Neighbors' writer Nicholas Stoller. Watch Johnny Depp’s Weird, Drunken Speech at the Hollywood Film Awards
So this is why we don't see Johnny Depp on stage very often (ever?) at awards shows. Last night at the Hollywood Film Awards, Depp introduced the documentary ‘Supermensch,’ about legendary talent manager Shep Gordon, and immediately made it pretty clear that he was not sober-minded. “That's the weirdest microphone I've ever seen in my life,” he slurs—except, you know, it's just a regular microphone.
Australian Batman Uses Street-Legal Batmobile to Bring Joy to Sick Kids
First there was Chibatman, the Batman impersonator who rides around Japan on a replica of the Batpod from 'The Dark Knight.' Now there's Australian Batman Zac Mihajlovic, who rides around in a customized Batmobile built to replicate the one from Tim Burton's 1989 'Batman' film -- but this isn't just any Batmobile replica or any Batman impersonator. This vehicle is perfectly street-legal, and this Batman uses his persona to spread cheer to sick kids.
