I first started out in radio in high school at AM station KORV in Oroville, California. Worked at KORV-AM and KEWE-FM in Oroville in Junior and Senior years in high school. The stations were bought up by Z-Spanish Radio Network in 1996 and I worked for them as the main operator of the stations as they were automated by satellite (I managed to learn a little Spanish on the side, too). In late 1997, I started working at KUBA-AM 1600 in Yuba City, California playing country music and helping out at various station live remotes. Also worked some weekends on their FM station KXCL 103.9, playing Hanson’s “MMMMBop” and Spice Girls “Wannabe.” Left radio in March of 1998 and began working in television as a Master Control Operator for KCPM (changed to KNVN in 1999) Channel 24 in Chico, California. Ran camera for newscasts and other fun TV stuff. Moved to Denver in 2000 and ran Master Control at Comcast Media Center. Working on BBC America, Discovery Kids, Discovery Science, AZN Television and later ran PBS Kids Sprout and TV One. I came to Cheyenne in 2009. I currently work in Master Control at EchoStar running Pay-Per-View Movies, Sports, UFC, TNA and WWE Special Events for DISH Network. Now I’m just super excited and happy to be working again in radio at Townsquare Media! Favorite Country Artists: Tracy Byrd. I’m an avid “Byrd Watcher,” having seen Tracy Byrd in concert 27 times. I was so well known by all of Byrd’s band members and road crew, that I was actually invited into Tracy’s bus and got to have the grand tour. I SAT WITH HIM. For over an hour. And drank Miller Lites in the living room. I’m also big fans of Tracy Lawrence, Neal McCoy, Mark Chesnutt, Pam Tillis, George Strait, Diamond Rio, Sawyer Brown and SheDaisy.
