According to the Coloradoan, a development company out of Denver is looking on adding a new King Soopers location in Northern Colorado, with eyes being focused on South Fort Collins.

The proposed location is at the intersection of South College Avenue and Carpenter Road, with a contract under to buy the property made by Evergreen Development. It is all part of a master plan by the development company that would focus on 55 acres and could also include some housing. The project is still in the early stages, with proposals still needing to be sent to the city and approved.

The success of the North College Marketplace, which also includes a King Soopers, is what the hope is to be able to replicate in South Fort Collins. It would be located with a good amount of competition on both sides of the development. With two Walmarts within a short distance, one located on Harmony and another just over the Loveland city line, there will be more competition but also more choices for consumers in that part of the city.

Evergreen Development also is building a King Soopers anchored shopping center in Aurora and a new Sprouts in Loveland.
