Nothing is more beloved than good NoCo gossip about what business is going into this business or that. And nothing has been gossiped about more than the presence of the massive Amazon facility built just east of I-25 in Loveland.

The building, located at 6425 Byrd Drive in Loveland, was initially slated to open in 2024, bringing with it roughly 1,000 new jobs to the area in what Amazon calls a "robotics fulfillment center," where advanced automation along with human counterparts will process packages for presumably a large section of the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.

But the building looks as though it's been finished for some time, without a soul ever walking through its doors, let alone any cars even parked in its lot. So what gives?

9News recently reached out to Amazon for clarification and were told that yes, the distribution center is still opening. Which is a good thing, for such a massive building.

But when? Not so sure on that tidbit.

Amazon told 9News that they will be opening the facility when its needed based on the capacity of other facilities in their network... meaning... we built this massive building for later, when we actually need to use it. Pretty forward thinking, if you ask me!

They say the only plans that have changed since they announced it would be built is the exact timing, based on Amazon being a "dynamic business," which makes sense.

Here's hoping it gets up and online in time for the holidays so your spouses gift comes on time this year for a change!
