This melon has so many names, I wasn't sure what to call it. According to Wikipedia the "Cucumis metuliferus, horned melon or kiwano, also African horned cucumber or melon, jelly melon, hedged gourd, melano, is an annual vine in the cucumber and melon family, Cucurbitaceae."

No matter what name you call it, you can't forget it's interesting pokey horns and slimy green seeded insides. If you can get past the unusual textures, you might enjoy it's sweet fruity taste, claims my husband. The melon also has lots of health benefits, as you will see below. I couldn't bring myself to try it. I did however enjoy taking a video of my husband and son trying the Kiwano melon, or horned melon or jelly melon, or whatever you want to call it.
