Greeley is in desperate need of some new roads, and the city is doing something about it.

Road closures on 7th avenue will begin close to 13th Street and will continue southbound toward 16th Street. Construction work will continue and is scheduled until approximately mid-November.

The improvements to 7th ave will cause road closures as well as periodic utility outages.

"Monday begins seven months of construction along 7th Avenue from 13th Street to 16th Street as the City improves water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities and repaves the road. This work takes place in conjunction with sanitary sewer replacements near 7th Avenue and 14th, 15th and 17th streets." -The City of Greeley

According to the City of Greeley's press release, 'the project replaces and upsizes the city’s stormwater, water distribution, and sanitary sewer systems', and 'the work also relocates several non-city utilities such as gas, electric and communication lines.

The final phase of upgrades includes replacing the asphalt road surface, and concrete curb and gutter.

The City of Greeley's press release also stated that "existing work on non-city utilities and non-city developments in the area will continue alongside this project".
