Rick Schaden and his father Richard Schaden of Boulder, took over Quizno’s 1991 and also founded Smashburger! The two are having a hard time keeping the cycling event afloat though. After five years, the event has yet to turn a profit. They lost $10M in that first year, but only lost $2M this past year.
