There are hundreds of restaurants in Fort Collins. I certainly haven't tried them all. Mostly because I frequent the same few, including some of these that are considered lesser-known, hole in the wall restaurants.

Thanks to so many great responses on the Fort Collins Question and Answer site on Facebook, I now have a few more hole in the wall restaurants in Fort Collins to enjoy.

Elevated Sandwiches

A few years ago my sister and her family were driving into town and they didn't want to show up hungry. She immediately texted me and said "I just had the best salad at Elevated Sandwiches". I thought they may have gotten off the wrong exit in the wrong city. I had no idea what she was talking about. The online reviews led them there. She led me there. Hopefully, this story leads you there. Then we can all enjoy the creatively, fresh foods at Elevated Sandwiches on North College, in the sorta empty plaza. Favorites like cheesesteak, beet salad, fried mushrooms, a few beers on tap, and really nice owners make this a fabulous Fort Collins hole in the wall to find.

Las 4 Americas

The menu is huge for this little tortilleria. Las 4 Americas is found in the plaza at 1669 S. College Avenue. They had some scrumptious reviews. Menu favorites seem to be their fresh tortillas, tacos, and the Chile Relleno burrito.

Simply Thai

Once upon a time, I was lucky enough to live near this lovely hole in the wall. Simply Thai, I miss those days. I miss the convenience of your curries and coconut rice. Simply Thai is what most people describe as "clean". The food doesn't have that dirty oil taste. This is where my kids learned to love Pad See-Ew. The place where my husband repeatedly ordered the Gingery even though he swore he would try something new, probably those baby corns. Simply Thai in the Raintree Village Shopping Center is my favorite hole in the wall in Fort Collins and now I know you agree.

Yes, Sally's Kitchen is in the Schrader's gas station at 4727 South Timberline Road. Yes, people love this Chinese food option. They really love Sally's avocado ginger fried rice, along with chop suey (yes, a real dish not just a saying) and Pad Thai. Don't let the gas pumps fool you, a popular hole in the wall awaits you.

Back in the day, the people I knew either spent their bar nights out at the Steakout or the Trailhead. I was a Steakout person. Shuffleboard in the basement, cold beer, and a decent, simple kitchen. The Steakout on Mountain Avenue has surprisingly good bar food. Great fries, great Ruebens.
