You Won’t Be Able to Find 3 Kinds of Cheerios in Colorado Stores Soon
If you like waking up in Colorado and having a tasty bowl of Cheerios for breakfast, you might want to brace yourself for some news.
General Mills Announces Changes to Lineup of Cheerios Brands
Thousands and thousands of Coloradans love Cheerios, not only for breakfast but as a snack. They're small, they're easy to prepare, and (for the most part) healthy for you. But there's only so much space on grocery stores' shelves, so three have to go.
Cheerios first hit the scene in 1941 as 'Cheerioats," but had to change their name in 1945 to Cheerios after Quaker Oats called them out on it.
What 3 Kinds of Cheerios Are Disappearing in Colorado?
According to Geekspin.com, who mostly deal with tech and entertainment news, the gang at General Mills is discontinuing three brands of Cheerios:
- Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch. Geekspin says this one had been around since 2013. I mid-June, I went to a Safeway and a King Soopers and couldn't find these.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios. This one had been around since 2017; I also could not find a box of it on my search.
- Honey Nut Cheerios Minis. A relatively new Cheerios, I did find boxes of it at a Safeway in Loveland.

If anything, you may want to hustle out and grab as many boxes off of Colorado shelves as you can, as they may become "collectors items" in the future. Who knows how much an unopened box of Honey Nut Cheerios Minis could go for in five years?
