What Are The Best Months For Snow Tubbing In Colorado?

Similar to most ski resorts the window of November to early April will be your best best for enough snow to help you fly down the hills on your innertube.

Copper Mountain

Enjoy a lift on the 'magic carpet' to the top of the mountain and then let the staff give you a good push down the mountain on your innertube. There is also a kids hill for little tubers and even more fun.

Aspen Snowmass

On Friday evenings during the winter months, Aspen Snowmass celebrates the Norse god of snow with sledding, tubing, and even fire dancing.

Snow Mountain Ranch

Tubing hills surrounded by amazing mountain views are waiting at Snow Mountain Ranch. Next to the tubing hill is an ice-skating pavilion. The YMCA also runs a swimming pool on site. They also have an indoor climbing wall in there. You can do it all!

Frisco Adventure Park

Imagine heading up the lift at sunset for some winter night tubing? Tubing lanes at Frisco are 1200-feet-long and make for some of the best tubing action in the state.

Firecracker Hill - Telluride

With this destination just a couple of hours from Grand Junction, it is really worth the trip. Some of Colorado's most classic jagged peaks surround you along with the winter waterfalls. Firecracker Hill is Tellurides 'unofficial' sled hill and can be found on the south end of Town Park.

High Country Tubing Park -  Pagosa Springs

Pagosa Springs offers lightning-fast speed and adventure for your entire family. Since snow tubing requires almost no skill whatsoever, anyone will love this spot for winter tubing.

Ski Hesperus in Durango

This one is just 11 miles away from Durango, Colorado, and offers 26 ski trails and some fast tubbing lanes as well. The area sees 150 inches of snow annually so you know you can tube all day on top of plenty of snow.

Vail Mountain

Both Adventure Ridge and Ellefson Park are a couple of really fun places to hit the tubs and fly over some snow. Here is another spot you can hit the slopes at night.

Yee-Yaw Hill at Saddleback Ranch

Saddleback Ranch's tubing hill is just 15 miles West of Steamboat Springs. Yee-Haw Hill is a favorite destination each winter for folks all over the state.

Keystone Adventure Point

Mountain tubing opens in Mid-December at Adventure Point in Keystone.  Enjoy their multi-lane hill, which comes with a convenient lift so you can do more laps per hour.

Haymaker Hill in Beaver Creek

Sadly we must report that Haymaker Hill at Beaver Creek is no longer open for winter tubing. They have closed. The video below reminds us of the fun from days gone by.

Powderhorn - Grand Junction

Powderhorn is a Western Slope favorite and offers incredible skiing and a chance to do some winter tubing as well. 2021-2022 season passes are on sale now.

Ski Granby Ranch

The tubing hill is free with 10 tubes on the ready. You are welcome to bring your own tubes or sleds they just ask they do not come with metal edges. Tons of activities make this another fun Colorado hot spot each winter.

Coca-Cola Tube Park, Winter Park

This one is a must-visit. There are 4 lanes, banked curves, and the covered lift gives you a ride back to the top. Vintage Hotel and Winter Park Resorts make it easy to stay all weekend.
