Kids get free lunch in style in Larimer County over the summer months. Once school lets out many kids miss out on that regular lunch they count on and need. Larimer County has found a way to make it easier for kids not be hungry.

Residents in Larimer County who need a little extra help are pretty fortunate. There are several organizations that assist with food for both the young and old. Food is available is good old brook and mortar buildings, but also in several mobile ways. One of those is the pretty cool-looking Lunch Lab servicing kids this summer.

The Lunch Lab has service Monday through Friday. There are several locations each day to choose from, some have hot lunch and some serve cold lunch. Service goes through August 11. No ID is required. Children 18 and under get one free lunch when they stop by.

According to the Food Bank for Larimer County "in Larimer County, almost 10 percent of the population may be facing food insecurity. That’s more than 30,000 people—a number equal to the population of an entire city."
