The Weld County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect involved in a strong-arm motor vehicle theft incident that occurred just north of Greeley last week.

According to the sheriff's office, the crime took place at approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday (April 8). A Weld County resident was driving a 2017 gray Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and towing a U-Haul motorcycle trailer north on U.S. 85. when, somewhere near U.S. 85 and Weld County Road 66, another vehicle behind him flashed its lights, prompting the resident to pull over to see if there was something wrong.

As the driver exited his Jeep to see check on the trailer, he was assaulted by the individual in the other vehicle.

When the man woke up, his Jeep and U-Haul trailer, which was also carrying a 2020 black Harley Davidson Softail Custom, had all been stolen.
