A paper delivery driver in Pine, Colorado came across a mountain lion dragging a deer by its neck early Monday morning.

Racyn Renee quickly turned her phone on and began recording the incredible scene. Renee told Fox 31 Denver, "It was like watching Animal Planet live."

Colorado Parks & Wildlife say there's somewhere between 4,000 and 5,500 mountain lions in the state.

Jason Clay, Public Information Officer with CPW told Fox 31:

I was talking with one of our area wildlife managers…She said in the last 10 years she knows of maybe three to five cases where people actually saw [a mountain lion] in person... and getting it on camera is even rarer.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife have put together some tips for avoiding and surviving mountain lion encounters. Find them HERE
