As the No. 25 seed in the Class 4A state girls basketball tournament and coming off three straight losses to end the regular season, little was expected of the Berthoud Spartans squad.

Senior guard Breanna Fowler made sure to change that thinking.

She scored 24 points, made five steals, grabbed three rebounds and dished three assists to help lead the Spartans to a 57-55 first round upset over No. 8 seed, The Classical Academy, on Tuesday (March 9). For her efforts in leading the upset, Fowler is this week's Townsquare Media High School MVP.
