Fans will notice the Colorado Rockies sporting a new look on the field this season, as it was recently announced they were chosen along with six other teams to be a part of this year's City Connect uniform program.

This is the second season of the joint collaboration between Major League Baseball and Nike who launched the City Connect series to celebrate the bond between the professional clubs and their corresponding cities. The Washington Nationals' new unis, for example, feature colorful pink cherry blossoms - something the city is known for.

While the new design has yet to be revealed, it will definitely highlight Denver's uniqueness as a city in a special way. The Rockies' Mile-High-inspired jerseys will be unveiled during the June 4 home game against the Atlanta Braves. The head-to-toe uniforms will include new socks, new caps, and everything in between.

The other six MLB teams selected for the 2022 season are the Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, and the Washington Nationals. These clubs, along with the Rockies, join the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, and San Francisco Giants who all debuted a unique City-Connect design during the 2021 season.

It's expected that all thirty teams in the league will eventually get to participate in the City Connect program at some point.
