Greyrock Trail Opens Following Hewlett Fire, Some Smoke Might Still Be Visible
Greyrock Trail northwest of Fort Collins is reopening as of Friday, June 1, 2012. The Hewlett Gulch Trail is closed for today as crews work in the burned area. The US Forest Service released information Friday afternoon that crews are still working areas near the burn area of the Hewlett Fire where there are some hot spots.

Hewlett Fire Now 11 Percent Contained, Some Evacuations Still in Place
The Hewlett Fire is now 11 percent contained and about 7,673 acres, according to the Forest Service. Evacuations remain in place for 15 homes along Highway 14 from Greyrock Trailhead to North Poudre diversion dam. Over 500 firefighters are working the fire along with air-fighting efforts. Today's warm weather and predicted thunderstorms could potentially cause the fire to grow.

City of Greeley’s Water Supply Could by Threatened by Hewlett Fire
The Hewlett Fire northwest of Fort Collins has grown to approach Greeley’s Milton Seaman Reservoir.  The Forest Service has evacuated city buildings, including the home of the reservoir caretakers there. The Milton Seaman Reservoir provides water for the City of Greeley and there is potential for the water supply to be affected.
