Study Says Northern Colorado is One Of The Fastest-Growing Areas
Overall our cities are thriving.
It's hard to think that anything really grew in the last year, right? I know for me, I essentially closed up shop when it came to spending money. My budget got super tight. So let's just say that the word "growth" hasn't really been on my mind, unless we're talking about my binge-watching waistline.
However, there has been growth. It may be small, but it's still there and I believe it started years ago. The momentum that we have built in our area over the last several years may have helped carry us through this pandemic.
Let me explain.
WalletHub recently did some research on cities across the country, 515 to be exact. They looked at various growth factors like population, unemployment rates, regional gross domestic product, and more. Analysts examined these numbers from the last seven years and things are looking pretty good for us.
In fact, several Colorado cities were put on their list of 2020's Fastest Growing Cities in America.
The top finisher in Colorado as a whole was Denver at number 41 overall and at number five on the list of "Large Cities." However, we here in Northern Colorado weren't too far behind. Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley were all listed in the top 100. Greeley faired the best coming in at number 48, with Fort Collins at number 59 and Loveland ranking at number 80. Greeley was also tied for first in the "Highest Regional Growth Domestic Product" category.
With that being said, I think it's safe to say that our area is on an upward trajectory this pandemic can't knock us off of that path.
