Like Jimi Hendrix before him, Prince is proving to be nearly as prolific in death as he was in life.

As his fans and peers still try to get used to a world without him, Prince's estate and former record labels are ramping up the process of uncovering and releasing the massive amounts of unreleased music and video he left behind in his fabled vault.

The campaign began in earnest in September of 2018, as Warner Bros. released Piano and a Microphone 1983, a previously unreleased half-hour recording session featuring early solo renditions of "Purple Rain," "17 Days" and "Strange Relationship."

The following spring saw the unveiling of Originals, a collection featuring Prince's demo versions of songs that he wrote and gave to other artists, including the massive hits "Manic Monday" and "Nothing Compares 2 U."

Sony Legacy has also begun re-issuing titles from later in Prince's career, including first-time ever vinyl editions of albums such as Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic. In addition, peers and friends such as Morris Day and Randee St. Nicholas have prepared books focusing on the time they spent with Prince.
