Sobriety tests have typically been the same for suspected drunk drivers and high drivers, until now.

There's a new tool for police use and that is the Dräger DrugTest 5000. This device uses a mouth swab to quickly determine if a suspected driver is high on weed.

Police are already using it at checkpoints in Los Angeles, San Diego, and New York City, and in parts of Arizona and Nevada.

But that's not all the device can test for, it can also detect cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine, amphetamine, methadone, and benzodiazepines in the bloodstream.

There 16 states that have a zero-tolerance law which makes it a crime to drive under the influence of any drug.
