If you are noticing smoky skies in Northern Colorado on Friday, there's a fire in Loveland to blame.

A large group of haystacks caught fire around 2:30 a.m. early Friday morning in Northeast Loveland at County Road 9 and Country Road 30.

Loveland Fire Authroity Rescue crews have been working to extinguish the fire, which has been challenging due to the high number of bales involved.

Authorities warn that rising temperatures will likely trap the smoke at lower levels, impacting Loveland homes and businesses throughout the day.
