What Allegedly Happened at the Colorado Amusement Park?
The story allegedly takes place back in 1893 at Manhattan Beach, a Denver amusement park that operated until the early 1900s.
Legend has it that a man, who was later identified as a Sheriff from Aspen named Duckett, joined a group of friends drinking at the park who were chatting amongst themselves.
One of the members of the group claimed to have seen a man eat four dozen raw eggs, and upon hearing this, Sheriff Duckett claimed that for the right price, he'd eat an entire live chicken in 15 minutes.
According to the story, a chicken was purchased, and Duckett kept his promise, eating the entire chicken, including the feathers, and was given $50 for the spectacle.
Could This Bizarre Story From Colorado's Past Be True?
