Yelp Says Colorado Has 3 of the Top Pizza Places in the U.S.
Here in Colorado, we’ve got some absolutely spectacular food that is genuinely good enough for food tourists around the globe.
We’ve got the classics down pat, like Buckhorn Exchange, the oldest restaurant in Denver. Not only do they still have great eats, but fully embrace their history as well.
If you’re looking to get an awesome breakfast, you don’t need to look any further than Village Coffee Shop in Boulder.
However, there’s something Colorado does extremely well that people from out of state may not expect; pizza.
In fact, Denver actually rated on one list as the best pizza city in the entire country. While that may be a bit of a hot take, there’s some amazing options around the state.
However, Yelp recently made their list of the Top 100 Pizza Places in the country, and three Colorado spots made the cut. Let’s see what they say is definitively the best place to get a slice in Colorado.
The Honorable Mentions for Best Pizza in Colorado
Starting off Yelp’s list is an absolute must if you ever visit Golden, Colorado; Woody’s
Woodfired Pizza & Watering Hole, which comes in at 93rd on the list.
There, you’re going to get yourself a great slice no matter what you pick.
However, if you’d like to try out one of their signature pies, their spin on the Buffalo chicken pizza is to die for.
While you’re there, you simply have to try their beer cheese soup. It’s at the salad bar and is quite possibly their most popular item.
Coming in at 73rd is the Ballpark location of Marco’s Coal Fired in Denver, Colorado.
You’ll find some absolutely fantastic coal fired pizzas there. Plus, they easily have one of the best margherita pizzas in the entire state. Oh yeah, you can’t go wrong with their chicken wings either.
On one final note, they have a Nutella pizza that is just fantastic.
The Best Pizza Place in Colorado According to Yelp
Rounding off the Colorado selections on Yelp’s list is quite a unique pizza place; Osteria Marco in Denver, Colorado.
Compared to the other two pizza joints, this place is more pricey and goes for a more classy feel.
However, that doesn’t mean what they have to offer isn’t anything to scoff at.
They have some truly interesting and unique spins on pizza, including their Fig and Prosciutto, Carne, and Carbonara pizzas. The title for most unique probably has to go to the Fig and Goat Cheese pizza, though.
In addition to some truly exquisite slices, you can also have their famous lamb meatballs, either served on their own or in slider form.
Overall, you’re going to get an excellent experience with whatever you end up getting at Osteria Marco, or any of these places for that matter.
