Fast food is one of those things that even though it’s well known how bad it is for you, sometimes you just can’t resist.

With that being said, Colorado has some fantastic options for it.

We’ve got pretty sought after chains that are a bit uncommon throughout the country, like In’N’Out and Whataburger.

However, we’ve also got some fantastic local options as well.

Take, for example, Crown Burgers in Denver. It’s only got one location, but everyone who’s been there can swear by how awesome their food is.

Of course, what makes or breaks the success of a fast food restaurant place comes down to an old favorite; the cheeseburger. A good fast food cheeseburger hits differently than almost any type of food. I personally never get tired of them.

However, the people over at Delish decided to take a look at a bunch of chains to find which place has the unhealthiest burger.

But first, let’s see who has the healthiest burger in the study.

If You Want a Healthy Burger, Go to Culver’s

Now, Delish ranked each place’s signature burger on four criteria; energy, fat, sugar, and sodium. They then add up the score from each category to give it a total ‘Unhealthiness Score’.

With that being said, an interesting place came in as the place with the healthiest burger; Culver’s, which has 24 Colorado locations.

Their well known Butterburger had an energy score of 4, a fat score of 7, a sugar score of 1, and a sodium score of 5. This means it got an overall score of 17.

This just beats out the two burgers tied in second place for healthiest; Burger King’s and McDonald’s cheeseburgers with a score of 18. These two chains are known for being unhealthy, so it’s quite surprising to see them do so well.

However, there’s one advantage the Butterburger has over the rest of the competition; it doesn’t have cheese. That certainly would add at least another point.

The Unhealthiest Burger in Colorado Is…

Now, if you’re looking for the unhealthiest burger that was tested in the study, you don’t have to look any further than the cheeseburger at Five Guys.

This is many people's favorite fast food burger, so it shouldn’t be too surprising to anyone who’s eating it that this thing is pretty unhealthy.

It has an energy score of 12, a massive fat score at 26, a sugar score of 1, and a sodium score of 11. This gives it a huge ‘Unhealthiness Score’ of 50. The next closest is the Jalapeno & Cheese Whataburger with a score of 42.

While it’s definitely not a great option for losing any weight, it’s an awesome fast food burger, and you can get it at the 30 different Colorado Five Guys locations.
