Remains Discovered in Grand Junction

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office issued a press release on Friday, October 11th, indicating that the remains found earlier this year at a home on Pinyon Avenue in Grand Junction, belonged to 16-year-old Amanda Overstreet. According to People.com, Overstreet was the biological daughter of the previous homeowners. The 16-year-old was last heard from in 2005 and was never reported missing.

A Shocking Discovery

When the story broke in January of this year, neighbor Sam Troester told News9.com that he noticed crews wearing white hazmat suits exploring the property. According to the Mesa County Coroner's Office, a human head and hands were discovered when two individuals came to claim a freezer put up for grabs by the new owners.
