Boulder County Confirms West Nile Virus
On August 16, Boulder County announced that a human case of West Nile virus was confirmed in Longmont. According to Boulder County Public Health's statement, the resident is currently in the hospital. Boulder County Public Health has linked the case to a mosquito bite.
Boulder County Public Health says that even though the first case of West Nile virus was detected in their county, other counties should be cautious since it is mosquito season.

Mosquito Season in Colorado
In Colorado, mosquito season will last through October. Sometimes mosquito season can start as early as April. July through September is when the most mosquitos will be present across the entire state.
