A popular Fort Collins donut shop has announced it will permanently close at the end of the week, leaving a big hole in the city's breakfast scene.

FoCo DoCo first opened its doors inside The Exchange in July of 2018. The Old Town donut shop specializes in serving up hot "Colorado Style" donuts, with a variety of unique flavors and gluten-free options. Customers order from a convenient walk-up window.

The family-owned business frequently sources ingredients from across Colorado, including Palisade peaches and cherries from the Western Slope, to create funky donut flavors that aren't found anywhere else. The menu also features rotating seasonal donuts. Currently, some of those options are Apple Cider Crunch, The Great Pumpkin, and Maple Bacon.

There are more Colorado connections too. All of the donuts are fried in trans-fat-free sunflower oil that has been harvested from flowers in Colorado. The coffee that's served comes from a partnership with Fort Collins' Bean Cycle Roasters. Morning Fresh Dairy supplies the milk used in the eatery.

Sunday will be FoCo DoCo's last day in business. Get your fix of these delicious donuts before they are gone for good. Besides made-to-order donuts, the beloved establishment at 215 North College Avenue will be selling off the rest of its merchandise at heavily discounted prices.
