Bald eagles are such majestic animals. I feel blessed to see them soaring in the sky while driving to work. I often point them out to whoever is with me in the car and they are always happy to see them flying above or perched high up in a tree.
The winter months are a prime time to spot bald eagles in Northern Colorado. In January and February, bald eagles spend much of their time in the courtship and nest-building phase. Around mid-February, bald eagles will begin to lay their eggs.

Barr Lake State Park is a perfect habitat for bald eagles due to the tall cottonwood trees that surround the reservoir. in 1977, Barr Lake State Park opened to the public and is a short drive away from the towns of Northern Colorado. If you want to truly see what it is like to easily see 75 to 80 bald eagles in one area, Barr Lake State Park is a surefire way to do just that.
