
Greeley Woman Broke into Apartment, Threatened Woman with Knife
Authorities have set a court date for a Greeley woman accused of an early-morning home invasion.
According to police records, Tomi Garcia-Velasquez is being charged with felony first-degree burglary, menacing and criminal mischief for entering a woman's home on September 28, just off the 100 block of 9th avenue. Police say Velasquez was found by the resident in the kitchen, holding a large knife and threatening to kill her.
The resident called the police and Velasquez fled the scene. A neighbor reported hearing screams before seeing a woman running from the home.
Velasquez was found and arrested in a nearby alley.
The suspect will be in court at 9 a.m., Nov. 13 in Weld District Court.
