Officials from Fort Collins High School and the Poudre School District (PSD) are staying mum about the departure of the school's athletic director, Skip Caddoo.

The school's longtime employee was let go from his position on October 22. According to The Coloradoan, Caddoo had announced his resignation five days prior.

Caddoo and school officials agreed on a separation agreement, which allotted Caddoo a severance pay of almost $16,900.

PSD would not disclose the written agreement, but did reveal that the severance pay was equivalent to what Caddoo would have made if had he stayed at the school through December 31.

A spokesperson for PSD declined to comment on the reasoning behind Caddoo's departure, noting that it was a "confidential personnel matter."

Caddoo also refused to provide a reason for his exit, simply stating that "...it has been a pleasure working with all of you, and I wish you the best."

Parents and coaches began to notice Caddoo's absence from athletic events in early September. Rumors circulated that Caddoo had been suspended, but those were incorrect.

The district has hired social studies teacher Marc Buffington as an interim athletic director, until the position is filled over this summer. A job listing will be posted in the spring.
