Cafe Mexicali and Pobre Panchos have some competition, because a new Mexican restaurant is coming to Fort Collins.

According to the Coloradoan, the Denver-based Los Chingones is moving into the former Famous Toastery at 3541 E. Harmony Road, with plans to open in June.

The restaurant already has multiple locations throughout the Denver area, including its original locale in the RiNo district. Troy Guard, executive chef and owner of Los Chingones' parent company Tag Restaurant Group, told the publication that the Fort Collins expansion has been a long time coming.

"It's continuing to grow and expand and be a super exciting little city," he said. "We're super excited. It's going to have a really cool, hip, fun vibe."

This "vibe" will be a 3,200-square-foot indoor space and a 1,000-square-foot outdoor area, along with an expanded bar and garage door bays.

According to the restaurant's website, the eatery serves "sassy, spicy, sometimes irreverent" Mexican food influenced by Guard's childhood in San Diego.

The menu varies from location to location but features staples like the tostada pizza, burritos, tacos, enchiladas, street corn, quesadillas, and more.

Signature margaritas, seasonal cocktails, beers, and Mexican sodas are also available.

Coloradans can also look forward to El Pollo Loco, a Los Angeles-style Mexican food chain that is hoping to open 10 to 15 locations in the state over the next five years.
