Colorado 1st in Nation to Allow Firefighting Helicopters to Fly at Night
The Colorado state Division of Fire Prevention and Control is officially first in the nation to allow firefighting helicopters to fly at night.
Though this authorization is new, pilots wear night vision goggles 24 hours a day.
Colorado's wildfire firefighters weren't allow to fight fires after sunset even though night time is the best time to fight fires because of higher humidity, lower temperatures and calmer winds.
Hopefully, with Helicopters now being able to battle the flames longer more homes and land will be able to be saved.
