Hello and welcome to my page. It’s nice of you to stop by for a visit. I am thrilled to spend part of my weekend with you on TRI 102.5.
About me, I’m in my late 40’s. I was born on Veteran’s Day; so in school I always had my birthday off. I made believe everyone else had off because it was my birthday. I am married and we have one daughter. I recently became a grandpa to a great little guy. Boy, life can certainly change when you realize there is a new generation in your family.
I am proud to call Colorado my home now for over 12 years. I enjoy it here so much this is the second time I’ve lived here. I know, what must I have been thinking to leave here in the first place? I am originally from the suburbs of New York City, Long Island (pronounced “Lawn-Gyland” okay, not really) to be exact in the small town of Uniondale. It was a fun place to grow up - living in a small town but mere minutes by train from New York City.
Many of my memories about growing up on Long Island involve my two favorite things, my bicycle and my transistor radio. It was the 70’s so what else was there anyway, maybe a baseball mitt? Yeah I had one of those too. I rode my bike everywhere on LI and “always” had my transistor radio with me. Thus began my love affair with radio. In fact, today I collect old transistor radios that look like beer and soda pop cans. I’m up to about 30 so far and counting. Gotta love eBay.
I went into my first radio station in the late 70’s at the invitation of the DJ. I was still a young teenager and felt honored to have this important “voice on the radio” extend the invite. Upon entering the studio I knew my future would somehow revolve around a tiny room with lots of gadgets and very loud music. Some 30 years later I can happily say my life does involve the tiny room with lots of gadgets at TRI 102.5.
Being on TRI 102.5 is so much fun for me. Many times I feel more like a listener than the DJ. I’ve been caught many times in the studio with the music cranked up loud playing air guitar or drums, even to the slow songs. I can’t help it. I hope you enjoy listening to TRI 102.5 as much as I do.
